Free! Eternal Summer Ep. 1 – Some Things Don’t Change; New Character Appears! [First Impression]

The Iwatobi boys are back again this summer, with tournament awaits them, more (wet) fun, more muscles and more stripping, bromance and gay-er. Obviously, there are so many girls screaming. Adapting its first season opening, Haruka express his obsession toward water-chan; with Makoto pulling him out the bath tub. Oh KyoAni you cannot tease us again, we already knew he wore his swimsuit. Apparently, there’s no change in characters designs (I don’t count Couch Sasabe’s new hair cut). I was expecting some refreshment; well their actual designs are cool though, so it’s okay.

They start with a relay race against The Samezuka boys (anyway Nagisa and Nitori still are as cute as ever); in the end Rin is chosen as the new captain of Samezuka by Mikoshiba. Meanwhile, too bad, Haru dkk cannot catch any juniors’ interests to join the club. I mean, Gou-chan’s brilliant idea is brilliant; so brilliant. Unexpectedly, Haru mentions his own triceps and do this kind of stuffs that make me wanna throw up it I see it live, if it’s Nagisa and Rei, it’s acceptable; but Makoto is way too embarrassed!

As the friendly rival between Haruka and Rin blossoms, Haruka is still the one who needs to ‘heat up’; seriously, still doesn’t care about winning and time? LOL Rin is sucha big baby when Iwatobi boys and Gou-chan throw a surprise for him.

At last, we know who’s gonna be the new character from Samezuka side, a transferred student; Sousuke. This guy seems to know our boys well though and there’s a big chance we’re gonna fall into the same old pattern of friendship rivalries again.

As for the opening and ending, the ending is what to watch! Their kawaii young versions, Rin’s dancing, Haru becomes a mermaid wannabe (and it’s so gayyyyy); I prefer him in chef costume. So, are you excited to see what’s gonna happen this summer?
