Well, it’s not the first time I watch Shoujo but lately I’ve been watching some things different. I don’t know, maybe I’m going seventeen and this kind of thing starts to catch my attention. Honestly, I just read the manga until the latest chapter and… darn. I love it. Anyway, we’re not gonna talk about this though. Ao Haru Ride is as cliché as it can be but the author has always done it beautifully.

Characters and Story - Yoshioka Futaba was feminine girl back in middle school, some people know how tough is it to be a girl, getting isolated for being pretty is a normal case these days. Prior to her bad time in middle school, she changed her image to be a polar opposite of what she was, so that guys won’t like her, she fakes friends (Thank God finally she gets rid of her fake friends). But nothing really changed, her very first love in grade 7 makes his comeback again after a sudden disappearance just when they get started to get closer. Her feeling towards Kou (Tanaka) Mabuchi has never gone all this time. People change, so do they. Kou has become a cold guy nothing like he used to be. Even so, it’s pretty obvious they still like each other, but how much it is, well…

By the way, there are these new characters. Shuuko Murao, a pretty girl who has a crush with one of the teacher (Kou’s big brother), Tanaka sensei. Makita, a kawaii girl; getting envied for her cuteness, and Kuminato Aya; a quarter French boy who has a crush on Murao, making it a triangle love.
Yoshioka’s friends are what we call, Bitch-Envy-er, well, I understand how these young girls get irritated by Makita but then again it’s not right. I know, girls are annoying. Love it how Makita faces them, she stands for what is right. She’s gonna be a good friend for Yoshioka. It’s kind of lame when Yoshioka didn’t even realize Kou is going to the same school as her. It’s kind of interesting how their personalities changed and now they are in the same situation facing each other, confess their (old) feelings. But too bad, the feelings were in the past or so Kou said.

They’re probably gonna be in love again but HOW? I’m just curious how is this ride of feelings gonna work out. Is Yoshioka gonna find the old Kou or will she accept what has really become of Kou. Because seriously, some people will interfere in their way and shit… I just remember the fact that the manga is released once in a month. Fudge it. Whatever though, the thing is too complicated to explain. For Shoujo fans, Y’all should watch this!
Animation and Ost – At first, I thought they’re gonna continue the water colours theme, and then I realized it was flashback. The heck, it was beautiful, perfect fits for this show. As we enter the current theme, it’s standard animation after all. The ending and opening don’t really leave a special impression to me.

I wonder how far they will go with the story, I mean they’re just gonna make it as 12 episodes. And the manga is still running in a very middle problema between Kou, Yoshioka and my cutie pie (no mention of his name) I don’t wanna spoil. So do you think it will be another good adaptation with the manga is still running?
