ALDNOAH.ZERO Ep. 9, 10, 11 & 12 [END] – Emotional Roller Coaster with Very Significant Plot-Twists (Childhood’s End)

ALDNOAH.ZERO reached its final first cour this week, continuing Slaine’s bad luck in finding his beloved Princess and Count Saazbaum’s debt thing to his father. Seylum was choked by Rayet in public bathroom. It led to Deucalion’s falling and energy lost. Thanks to Inaho’s hygienic procedure of CPR she was finally saved and everyone could go on to Rusia. Rayet’s redemption came quite fast after that.








Count Saazbaum revealed of what is his true intention by waging war with The Terrans, showing the footages of Tanegashima island from 15 years ago and how he lost his wife and started this personal hatred. I’ll be honest, Count Saazbaum is just not my type of favourite antagonist, but at least he’s not somekind of asspull antagonist with no real intention. Inaho and co. finally reached United Earth’s main base in Rusia safely and Seylum made her announcement of her condition and asking for peace with Martians. Sadly Count Saazbaum was in charge of the Moon base and he had all the power not to spread the message Seylum had stated. On the other side Slaine was given a choice to keep protecting his beloved Princess or stay with Count Saazbaum to crush United Earth main base.








And here what would be a tragic and messed up ending of season 1 all started. Count Saazbaum attacked The United Earth Force frontally without any warning with his landing castle. These last 2 episodes were full of action packed including short loli in a jeep and free style jumping with targeted missiles flying around and Inaho as the leader, not to mention they are fighting in Rusia with its blizzard snowy bitch falling.

Inaho *who always* comes up with idea, be the strategists, stating that he needed Asseylum’s help in his plan to shut down Count Saazbaum’s landing castle and kataprakht. Slaine who always came late, found Asseylum had already boarded, leaving her loli maid behind with Rayet held off some parts of what would be Count Saazbaum’s epic kataprakht transformation later.

Inaho and others landed safely on the Martians’ landing castle after that epic ‘jumping and falling’ from sky. Too bad for Deucalion, Saazbaum shot it down and everyone was kind of fucked up. Yuki-nee assisted Asseylum to continue the plan with Inaho tried to buy some time by facing Count Saazbaum’s kataprakht (what I can call the ‘ultimate katraprakht’ because it has mixed abilities of all kataprakths we had seen so far). There you go Inaho, I thought he would probably lose miserably but who am I kidding, God Inaho is superior even in his orange big can facing Count Saazbaum’s kataprakht.

And here he comes the x factor, Slaine, ‘re-activated’ Count Cruhteo kataprakth (if I’m not mistaken, because this part is confusing) got in the way in Inaho’s final blow to finish Saazbaum. Basically Slaine had killed the princess unintentionally by saving Saazbaum’s arse (that charm he gave to Asseylum was used by Rayet to kill her too). You know what? It feels kind of… anticlimactic for me.

The lack of emotions this show had shown (thanks to our stoic face main character) is not really helping. But at least we know Inaho’s 9 cloud face thing was true when she was with Seylum. Anyway that CPR scene looks beautiful; I don’t remember it was that romantic back then. This love triangle needs to be solved, but before it happened Seylum was shot in chest by Saazbaum and the possibility of she died is real until the epilogue roles in saying the body of Princess Asseylum is still unknown. Dead flag for Inaho, I mean he was head-shot by Slaine right? So far Slaine had killed 2 counts including his brutal shot on Saazbaum. Poor boy.  I just can’t imagine where the fuck ALDNOAH.ZERO is going with Slaine as the main character. It’s ironic just how they (bat and orange) finally meet face to face after that incident in Tanegashima ends with Inaho being head-shot by Slaine (are you crazy???). And that smile Inaho puts… after 12 goddamn episodes of being a robot you finally showed some emotions?????

This freaking plot-twist just comes suddenly like I still can’t believe if Inaho really died, just before he realized he already likes Seylum, and if, just if Seylum really died we only have the Emperor King to rule the Aldnoah drives and how will this war ends? Just how? Just left it there where Inaho and Seylum died is enough but we have the 2^nd season in Januari 2015, they may start the series with Inaho and Seylum alive because some Aldnoah/royal vers/martians asspull power to bring them back. It might sound cliché but don’t you think it will be better than having Slaine as the new MC or new character appears? Oh and I almost forgot, we still have Rayet who God knows what kind of role she’ll play.

Anyway I have this theory where they will start the 2^nd season years after Desember, 2014. Where everybody has grown up, I mean the last episode’s title is “Childhood’s End” it might show us some clues that this is just really an interlude and the reasons to what will be the real war next year where everybody has grown up and the fighting between Martians and Terrans is still going on.

But even so, overall ALDNOAH.ZERO is a great mecha anime IMO, the plot twist and the cliffhanger are… I can say rather brilliant because we really don’t know what will happen and it still left me in shocked. The only soundtracks that can stand again ALDNOAH.ZERO is Zankyou no Terror’s. Although I can’t say I really fully enjoy ALDNOAH.ZERO, this is one of rare series where they have no hesitation in killing their important characters. And I can’t tell you if it’s really an awesome idea to end its first season like this, where everything can go downhill after their death and this anticlimactic fights between the Martians and Terrans, so… Let’s just Justice be Done, Though the Heavens Fall.
