Free! Eternal Summer Ep. 5 & 6 – The Runaway and the Tournamen

KyoAni started episode 5 hilariously. Nagisa’s horror sense and Makoto’s reaction was fun to watch. Since we have an episode special to Rei last 2 weeks, last week was Nagisa’s turn. Not much happening, another slice of life episode. Interesting though to see how Nagisa bribed the three of them. I actually start to worry since based on Haru’s pattern he will come all like “I only do Free” I mean I thought this season would be about how they’re gonna face their last year in school (beside the National Tournament) and that evil career path survey will at least bother Haru a little. Nagisa was such a cutey, if only I could answer such questions with innocent kind like him.

We finally start the tournament. Not much tension just some kind of friendly matches between Samezuka and Iwatobi (only). Honestly I think those matching swimsuits are stupid. Seriously. Aww that flashback is cute, although I don’t know what the heck they try to show us. This thing with Makoto and Haruka is just… I can’t understand. Well I understand when you feel like your friend is being stolen or kind of jealous of someone but guy with guy… I’m not judging.

The Mikoshiba brothers are hilarious. We get much of water and competition. Makoto competes with Haruka in Freestyle 200m, ended up in second place. Haruka finished 1^st in every races he’s in, Makoto finished, Nagisa, Rei and Rin finished 1^st too in their swimming styles. As for Rin he shows a great rivalry in Free style with Haru, finished 2^nd. Both episodes are not so strong, one of them feels like a filler. Well, it’s what they did too with season 1, so I just hope they add some tensions next week.
